2007 McGovern Lecturer Announced: Arthur Caplan, PhD

Arthur Caplan, PhD, has been selected as the 2007 MLA McGovern Lecturer in Philadelphia. Dr. Caplan, a bioethicist, is founding director of the Center for Bioethics and the Emmanuel and Robert Hart Professor of Bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania, and author of over twenty-five books and over 500 journal articles. His lecture will relate to ethical issues underlying the peer review system in scholarly publishing, "Peer Review in Science and Medicine: Does it, or can it work?." He is a noted speaker with a big personality and according to NPC Co-Chairs, Diana Cunningham and Susan Starr, this is one you won't want to miss!
